Ted Harrison

Ted Harrison (1926-2015) was a British-Canadian artist known for his vibrant, stylized depictions of Yukon landscapes and communities. Born in Wingate, England, Harrison studied art and design at Hartlepool College of Art and earned a teaching certificate from the University of Durham in 1951. After teaching in Malaysia and New Zealand, he immigrated to Canada in 1967, settling in Carcross, Yukon. Harrison's distinctive use of bold colours and simplified forms gained widespread recognition, making him one of Canada's most popular artists. His work appears in public collections and has been celebrated in numerous exhibitions and publications.
